United States team will be announced the 35 players of womens basketball teams and they included Topeka native peyton williams in the line up.
“They read off in alphabetical order and so, I’m a “W”, so you can imagine,” Williams laughed as she awaited her fate following the trials in Colorado Springs.
“Then it got to the very end and it was Peyton Williams and that’s it, and I was like, oh my gosh!”
So now williams will be play from the USA in the Pan american games which to be played at Peru.
“To represent Kansas State and the Midwest and Kansas is awesome, to bring attention to an area where people kind of fly over, so that’s kind of fun. Just playing with some of the highest caliber players is going to be awesome,” Williams told KSNT Sports.
“The international game is a such a wide open game and her ability to shoot the ball and her ability to make shots, it’s critical in the international game as you widen the lane and as you talk about the short shot clock,” said Kansas State head coach Jeff Mittie.
