Soloveitchik tries in the end to argue there is something about modern life that makes this loneliness worse, and seems to suggest this is because of modern man’s disregard of the second, but I don’t know why this would be a new problem for modernity Just like Kosher Nation made me appreciate solloveitchik, so did this book make me appreciate prayer. Adam 2 comes to know God, at least in the Jewish context, through prophecy and prayer and to the formation of a covenant between God and man as set out in the Torah. Even those who are atheists should be able to find themselves among that multitude.
I will be returning to this book to better grasp the central conccepts of his moseph and religious and spiritual analysis, and to more fully relate this to soloveitfhik primary theologians in my Christian life who seem, on the surface, to offer similar pespectives.

As a Christian, I see Christ as lonepy second Adam personified, humble and completely God’s, and lonely, then, after the ordeal of ordeals, raised to newness of life as the first Adam.
